Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh holds a working session with the Ministry of Justice

On 16 June 2016, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, who is also Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform, holds a working session with the Ministry of Justice on reviewing judicial activity outcomes in the first six months of the year and making plans for the next six months.

On 16 June 2016, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, who is also Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform, holds a working session with the Ministry of Justice on reviewing judicial activity outcomes in the first six months of the year and making plans for the next six months.
Head of Party’s Commission for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac, Minister of Home Affairs Le Vinh Tan, Chair of the National Assembly Committee for Justice Le Thi Nga, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Van Thuan and representatives of the Government’s Office, the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Vietnam Bar Federation, Vietnam Lawyers Association attended the working session. As for the Ministry of Justice, Deputy Ministers Dinh Trung Tung, Nguyen Khanh Ngoc, Phan Chi Hieu, Tran Tien Dung, Le Tien Chau and heads of attached units of the Ministry, heads of socio political organizations also attended the working session.
Reporting at the working session, Deputy Minister of Justice Dinh Trung Tung stressed that in the first six months of 2016, the Ministry of Justice urgently deployed a comprehensive and focused activities, sticking to programs, work plans, resolutions of the Party, the National Assembly and the Government. In addition, the quality and progress of performing tasks were ensured. In which, a number of activities have positive changes with high results. Specifically, in terms of legal normative document development, the Ministry of Justice helped the Government to make and submit to the National Assembly for passing the Law on Access to Information; completed the program of law and ordinance making in 2017; adjusted the program of law and ordinance making in 2016; and actively participated in legal normative document development activities of other ministries and ministerial level agencies. Moreover, the activity of civil judgment enforcement also reached some positive results.

As for the key tasks last 6 months of 2016, the report focused on continuing to timely and effectively implement laws coming into effect in 2016; promoting legal dissemination and education activity, particularly newly-adopted laws and resolutions; continuing to organize synchronous implementation of the Law on Civil Status and the Law on Citizen Identity, towards modernization and professionalization; timely handling legal issues arising in the international integration process, negotiating, signing and implementing international treaties ...
At the working session, representatives of agencies, ministries and central agencies highly appreciated position and role as well as the achievements of the Ministry of Justice and the Justice sector recently, and the effective cooperation between the Ministry of Justice, and ministries and ministerial level agencies. Chair of the Justice Committee of the National Assembly Le Thi Nga proposed that the Deputy Prime Minister should have a further working session with the Ministry of Justice on works of civil judgment enforcement, administrative judgment enforcement, lawyers, judicial expertise and state compensation.
After hearing a report on the Ministry’s judicial work in the first half of the year, Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh praised the Ministry’s achievements which have contributed to State management in legal and judicial affairs, as well as judicial assistance. He urged the Ministry to help the Government fine-tune the legal system, improve state management in legislation and law enforcement, ensure human rights, remove obstacles to business investment, and accelerate international integration: “The Ministry of Justice should help the Government with measures to fine tune the legal system and make institutions a driving force for national development. Legislative and administrative reforms should be accelerated”, said Deputy PM Binh.
At the event, Deputy PM Binh also presented Decision No. 1056/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister on the appointment of Mr. Le Tien Chau, Rector of Hanoi Law University as Deputy Minister of Justice./.
